Aaah, but here we have a broad-narrow categorization paradox. The statement is technically correct; a better way of putting it would be 'Half rice food', but one can indeed refer to something as being both one thing and a class of one thing. (Softball, it's half sport, half outdoor activity!)

The first two bullets say the same thing - half rice *is* half food.

...But how can you have "half" food? Half of what? Could you have expected double the amount from them if they *didn't* stats "1/2 rice, 1/2 food"?

Also, is Orchard juice made of orchards?

Of *course* Orchard juice made of orchards! Just like Girl Scout Cookies are made of Girl Scouts! :D (mmmmm.... fleshy....)

But otherwise, that was our reasoning, too... 1/2 rice = 1/2 food.

...maybe it's so you don't feel cheated when they give you a 1/2 full plate of rice? "well, it's food!"
